Severus Snape appeared throughout the novels and the books, to always have another agenda behind what was really going on. Most of the time, it appeared that his agenda was completing work for the dark Lords. Although this was the portrayed idea, there was always some doubt of his cold heart, at he was constantly looking out for the greater good of Harry Potter and other students at Hogwarts Sch ool.
Harry's Savior
From the beginning of Harry Potter's life, Snape was looking out for the best interests for him. This was because of Snape's previously close relationship with Potter's mother. When both of Harry Potter's parent were murdered, devastated Snape fled to speak to the head master, Dumbledore to insure protection of Harry. Snape's dark and unthoughtful persona often displayed that Snape had no interest in Potter and led readers and viewers to believe that Snape had no desire for Harry to succeed at Hogwarts. Although Snape did not always open Harry with open and loving arms, he still was prevalent behind the scenes, in keeping Harry under his protection from those that attempted to harm him. For example, in the beginning of the series, during a game of Quittage, Quinius Quirrell attempted to through Potter from his broom, in order for him to fall to his death. While he was attempting to do this by using a spell, Snape identified the situation and used a counter curse to distract the spell that Quirrell was using.
Student's Savior
Snape often saved many other students from Hogwarts from danger as well throughout the series. Although he appeared to not care when students were in trouble, we always seemed to be behind the scenes doing good. In his typical unseen fashion, one example of this is when Professor Lupin transformed into a werewolf during a night of a full moon. When the three friends, Harry, Hermione and Ron ran into the turned professor, Snape aided in their rescue by helping them destroy the " seven Horcruxes", all without letting them know he was helping them.
It is often difficult to see the good behind the dark image of black hair, clothes and monotone speaking character of Snape. It is even more difficult when much of his character's good deeds and real purposes are unknown until further in the series. There is however, a short video displaying all of Snape's significant scenes throughout the Harry Potter movies, all in chronological order, which aid in the true depiction of his character. The clip is below.
Not only is Snape an evident savior for helping and aiding in the rescue of many characters, he also is similar to the Lord Savior as he too often aided others in discrete ways, and did so just for the good of others and not for his own benefit. Therefore, his character displays another similarity to Jesus through his ability to protect both physically and discreetly.
